Second EBCR novitiate meeting from 26.6. to 2.7. 2023 in Dinklage

"Re - create peace" - On the trail of peace in Europe

Four sisters from Montserrat, Catalonia, one sister from Alexanderdorf and our sister Rafaela from Dinklage came. Alternating between personal exchange and work on the theme of Europe and our role in it, there was also enough time to get to know the Dinklage community and each other. An excursion to Osnabrück to the exhibition "Giving Peace a Face - 175 Years of the Peace Treaty of Westphalia" fitted well into our theme line. The common prayer of the hours accompanied the days as well as holiday elements: e.g. swimming in Lake Dümmer. After a pilgrimage(24 km) from Damme to Dinklage in the footsteps of Cardinal von Galen, Bishop in Münster during the time of world war two and preacher against the regime, we creatively collected all thoughts and perspectives on our being and working as Benedictine Sisters in Europe. We enjoyed an intensive and invigorating week. The pilgrim beer in the evening was not to be missed. A wonderful experience that strengthens our own path and allows our congregation to grow further.
